5 Great Tips To Help Your Kids Ace Remote Learning

Posted: November 12, 2020

As the new school year begins, parents everywhere are facing new challenges and tougher choices than ever before. While every situation is different, and many parents are comfortable sending their children back to school, others are opting to take advantage of distance-learning or hybrid-learning opportunities, at least temporarily, so they can be sure they have chosen the safest possible learning environment. But this decision brings with it a whole new set of uncertainties for parents and students alike. How can parents keep their students focused and engaged without becoming full-time teachers or supervisors? If you’ve considered going in this direction, have no fear. We’ve gathered some tips from top experts to help make your distance-learning journey a little easier, remove some of the stress, and create a great learning experience for your child.

Establish a Routine

This is probably the most important (and obvious) factor of them all. Kids thrive on structure, and younger kids need more of it. Establishing and sticking to a schedule and a routine will enable great habits which in turn will lead to better results. You can build-in some flexibility, and it’s important to take breaks, but a schedule that at least somewhat resembles a normal school day will help keep your kids on track from the beginning.

Anti-bully Strategies To Share With Your Kids

Posted: April 30, 2020

Summer is winding down and Back to School season is in full swing.  Parents are anxiously getting their children prepared to return to school, while kids experience their own anxieties about making new friends, facing new peer pressures and unfortunately often having to deal with bullying, which these days often follows them home via social media.

In this article and Master Danielle Remarck (Owner of Dynamis Academy of Martial Arts) discusses some anti bullying coping strategies to share with your child to help them avoid becoming a victim this upcoming school year.

Bullying is a hot topic;  Most parents are aware of the eventuality that their child might face some bullying situations in schools or with their peers, however most parents also assume that if there were a problem the child would confide with them about the situation.  Unfortunately this is rarely the case, as children who are being bullied statistically do not share this information with adults.  Bullying has been around since the beginning of time, and is unlikely to end any time soon, so the best we can do is empower our children with the skills to not be a victim.

5 Summer Safety Strategies That Every Kid (And Parent) Should Know

Posted: April 29, 2020

Summer brings longer days and lots of free time for your kids (and less for parents).

Unfortunately during the summer break children are also more prone to peer pressure as well as being more vulnerable to fall victims to predators.

We want our children to put down the iPad and go outside and play, however kids today have to be much more alert then we had to be growing up. Just watching the local news is enough to terrify any parent concerned for their children safety. These are challenges that every parent faces, but by implementing some simple strategies we can feel much more confident about our children interacting with the real world.
